I have looked locally and even called the Ford Parts house and was told they didn't stock this part and didn't have it in their book even. Unless they could find it at another Ford New Holland dealer, i was out of luck! Can this really be true? The local O'Reilly's said anything like this other than a Ford product was much less sturdy, and nobody wants to replace any of this stuff anytime soon if they can avoid it. Would buy it at the Ford place if I could...or does someone out there know of another way to get this filter. I'd also like to replace the strainer, but since it is metal, I guess it will clean up this time. Thanks for any help out there!

If you refer to a hydraulic suction strainer, that is generally a fine wire mesh and should clean up well. Try an old tooth brush.
Filters, air, oil and fuel generally can be matched up at most auto parts outlets. Just take the old ones along with you or read the mfg and parts no's for cross matches.

For some reason i suspect that your engine just might be a Mitsubishi and if so the model should be K3--. Check that out.

If it has a metal screened strainer that bolts up inside the cavity, you can buy mesh screening material of just about any mesh and replace the one on your old one. You can get it online by the foot and 1 foot is enough for about two strainers. Make sure you buy brass so you can braze or solder it yourself.

And like Piloon said, there aren't many filters out there that work on only one application, just do some online cross reference with the one you have now and I'm sure you can come up with part numbers from a number of filter companies that will work.

Yeah, the auto parts store couldn't find anything like it and said it would break down if not Ford product..hardly ever hear a parts store admit to that so must be true. Heard back from a parts store across the state, they have one they will sell me for 47. bux plus 13 something shipping. Does this sound right price? This is not the metal strainer, but a corrigated paper type thing about 3 inches long x inch round.

My reg hydraulic filter was 20 bux at the local parts store...this other price sounds high, but maybe because they are so hard to find, they can ask that. Seems crazy high to me, but I'm not going to make one for this for sure.
