Can\'t find that special loader

While trying to find the right tractor, I found a front-loader that I really liked the looks of. But now I can't find the page. I remember that there were round holes in the loader arms. Does any one have any ideas?

I have seen the ones you are talking about. I don't think they are a big name brand. I have only seen them mounted on various grey market brands. I have never seen one in person, but they look like they would have a lot of flex in them, especially if they experienced any amount of side load. They appear to be cut from plate steel. I would rather stick with conventional contruction like rectangular tubing. It seems like I remember a dealer or maybe the manufacturer saying they were built that way to be light weight for use on small tractors. I am assuming the holes were punched in the lift arms to reduce weight as well. I would rather have heavy and strong than light weight and flimsy. Like I said earlier, I have never seen one or used one, just my observation from someone who has a few years loader experience. If you want a good loader for a small grey market, look at the Koyker 80.

I agree, but I am finally picking up my "new" 2500 this weekend sans loader, so I thought it was time for further shopping while the wife has the checkbook out.

In the case of a YM2500 I would go with a Koyker 155. There are other brands also such as Kelley and Allied. They all make mounting kits and are well built durable loaders.

Abee,

You are looking for the Helpmate loader, which is real similar to the little Leon model that recently came out. I've seen them both and compared them side by side to the Koyker. I'll take the Koyker any day. Allied is also a good brand, but they lack the depth of mount availability for the grays. I've sold over 200 Koyker loaders and problems are nearly non-existent.

Just my opinion.

I saw one of these loaders in northern Indiana at a Grey Market dealer. I really liked the 3 hydraulic valve that came standard for a remote. Also, a bucket and forks came with the loader and YM1500D it was on. I ended up buying a different tractor, howver.

I would be very skeptical with that loader. I just repared my neighbors with the one cyl in the middle. Had to replace both mounting ends of the cyl and reinforce the bucket and loader frame. Those holes might look neat, but I bet there isn't 30lb worth of metal difference in a solid one.

The holes make the boom lighter and suposedly stronger, i know they would be stronger if they had bells or formemd flanges, If youll look on a tracl loader and most wheel loaders they have 3/4 to 1 inche thik plate boom arms. one a small tractor 1/2 inch or 5/8 would be pretty stout. Their is a Helpmate dealer in Memphis He sells a few Yanmars with them mounted I may purchase one next spring.
