Hi, I'm new here, I just bought a Yanmar 3000 and the 3 point hitch won't lift. The last owner said she never used it so it never worked for her either. I've been trying to find the hydraulic pump and can't seem to find where it is located. It seems like it should be easy to find but I've torn apart the whole tractor and found everything but that. And why does the control valve have only 1 line going to it? Is this the way it is supposed to be? Can anyone out there help me? Thanks

I haven't had a YM3000 but the YM2500's hydraulic pump is right behind the injection pump. Have you followed the 1" + or - line from the bottom of the transmission to the pump? That is where the screen is for the system also, where it goes into the side / bottom of the transmission.

Cause the fluid out of the valve just dumps into the fluid resivoir it mounts onto.
To find the hydro pump just follow the 2 hard metal lines foward.

The Hyd. pump started leaking on the ym2500 that was purchased the first part of this year. Easy Fix though. If your Sitting in the Seat it was on the Lower Front of the Motor to the Right of the Water Pump. I would think the 3000 is the same.

I do have a YM 3000, pump is on the front of the engine, under the fan, on the right side. Follow the steel lines to the pump. Small line ( upper ) is high pressure, large line is the suction.

Well. I don't have a hydraulic pump on the tractor. Why? I don't know. there are no lines running to the front of the tractor. i looked at images of a jd 950 and the lines are clearly visible along the side of the tractor. next question then. what pieces do i need to attach the pump to the conntrol value, etc? thanks for all your input.

Do you have the other components of the three-point including the upper lift arms, and the hydraulic cylinder under the seat that raises them?
Sounds to me if the pump and plumbing are all missing then locating a tractor junkyard might be the next step.

Your best bet is to buy a YM3000 parts manual, the words will be in Japanese, but you will have pictures and part #'s showing what is missing, then find a salvage yard with a YM3000. There has to be something plugging the pump and line mounts. I sure hope you didn't pay much for it.

agreed there has to be something on the suction line or there will be no fluid in the tran/resivoir as it would all just come out of the cut line. The pump is around $300 new.

Worst case, if everything you need is absolutely unobtainable:
You might put a pto hydraulic pump on the pto shaft, so you have hydraulic power to raise rear implements. I don't know if you can find a pump that is pass-through to still run a mower, tiller etc behind that pump.
But essentially as it is now, it is a 'drag' tractor like the old pre-3-point tractors of 50 years ago. It is useful for pulling a harvest trailer etc, not so much for cultivating soil.
