3-Point Hitch Can't find the Hydraulic Pump Yanmar 3000

The engine should be a 3T84. I'm looking at the parts manual and wondering if the drive gear is on the engine or missing as well ?? I have the parts manual, and it calls that part a gear, part #121250-26201. You will need the drive, lines, and the pump itself. Before you go through the trouble, is all of the lifting gear present on the rear of the tractor ?? If so, worth the effort, if not, stand by for a big one. I'd contact Hoye tractor or Fredricks and see if they have a YM 3000 parts tractor standing in their lot. Might be worth contacting them to see if a package deal can be put together for you, get a better deal. I also have a Deere 950 and notice that those parts will interchange with the YM 3000. Deere engine is a 3T90J, and I'd bet it is the same engine block with different sleeves and pistons. Can't find a parts YM3000, find a Deere 950. My YM3000 is now running the pump off the 950 while it gets Deere gets rebuilt, I know it fits purfectly and works well. Hoye sells two different pumps for this engine, if you have a loader, ask for the high cap pump, if no loader, and never will have, the standard pump is fine and bogs the engine less. Good luck,
Chris

Sorry I haven't been on in a couple of days, thanks for all the input. Yes all the rear lift gear is in place. It has the upper lift arms, the hydraulic lift cylinder, control valve, and a line running from the control valve to the right side of the reservior underneath the steering wheel. As for the front, not sure what I'm looking for. Looks like I'll need both lines from the pump to the control valve, the pump itself and maybe the drive gear.

Your best bet is to buy a YM3000 parts manual, the words will be in Japanese, but you will have pictures and part #'s showing what is missing, then find a salvage yard with a YM3000. There has to be something plugging the pump and line mounts. I sure hope you didn't pay much for it.
Do I just need a parts manual, or do I need the service and the owner manuals also. If I was only to buy one what would be the best for me?
Oh and I paid $2500 which included a 7 foot finishing mower in excellent shape. I hope that wasn't paying too much?

Tough questions. There are no English Yanmar OEM manuals for your gray market tractor. All that is available are manuals for similar, (hopefully), made for US tractors. At least with parts manual you get pictures and Arabic, (English), part #'s. As for price, it totally depends on what it takes to get the hydraulics working. Must admit, I would not have bought, at any price, without working hydraulics. Some parts may not be available.

look at the large & small line running along the side of the engine.. The pump in under the mesh part / side of the hood. The large line bends right up to the pump

I'd get the parts manual first. When talking to Hoye or Fredricks, you can use part #'s if you need to. The parts manual will also help you to see what is missing. Who knows what shape the rear lift gear and cyl is in. That said, I'd still take the chance. The pump itself is under $400. I'd call Hoye first, let them know what you have and see if they have a parts tractor standing in the lot for the lines and whatever else. Don't forget to look on the bottom of the tractor on the left side under seat. You should find a plate with 3 small bolts. This is the oil filter housing. Caution !!! don't remove this cover before draining the oil in the case first. The gear case holds about 5 gallons of JD303 oil. You will want to remove the cover and see if the filter screan is in place under the cover, if not, you will need this to. Hyd pump needs this filter to keep the crud out of the pump. Pump suction line ( larger steel line of the two ) takes oil from the gear case and delivers to the pump in the front of the engine. The smaller line runs from the pump discharge to lift cyl under the seat. Can't imagine why someone would remove this stuff. But what you paid for the tractor, you got a fair deal if the rest is in good shape. Mine was $4000 about 6 years ago running well with all of the lift gear working well.

Not sure but maybe the 2500 shares some of the same parts, like lift gear metal lines and maybe pump?

I'm away from the parts manual. The YM2500 and the YM3000 use the same manual but list some different parts. But I think many yarmars and JD use the same parts, should end up being common. I know my JD 950 uses exactly the same pump and steel lines. But the valve body is different with different plumbing due to the dual remote hyd valves. That isn't to say they won't fit the yanmar. Most likely the YM2500 and the JD850 and 1050 will fit as well. If you talk to someone like Hoye that is in the business, bet they have a long interchange list for these parts.
