Can't get FEL hoses to connect

I always relieve pressure on my system by rotating the FEL lever with the engine stopped before attaching or reattaching the FEL and have had no problems so far.

I had a problem once and have done the same since.

This is an old thread, but it helped me out today. I could have swore I relieved the pressure before disconnecting the FEL, but I couldn't get it reconnected.

After using up all my best swear words, I came inside and did a google search, which took me right back to TBN. After reading this topic, it occurred to me that it is about 20-30 degrees warmer today than when I took off the FEL a couple of weeks ago.

I followed the instructions on this thread to relieve the pressure, and poof, I'm good to go! Thanks TBN!

just something to add for anyone else searching this topic later. i have had trouble reconnecting hoses to tractor after unhooking my wood splitter hoses. it was due to temperature increase causing expansion of the hydrolic fluid in the loose lines to be reconnected. i too took a hammer and punch to release the pressure which is what needs done, however just a reminder to be careful of the o-rings inside the quick coupler. i actually damaged a plastic ring that holds that rubber o-ring in place. must be the punch got off to the side a bit. hard to hold on to if hands are covered in oil. use a rag to cover the end while hammering. anyway just a helpful tip for the next guy.

If you just unscrew the quick disconnect and let the pressure bleed off they will also hook right up. I don't like the sound of the hammer and punch system.
