Not that the pressure is that severe, but you can't be too careful when it comes to hydraulics.... cover the end with a rag and maybe some hand and eye protection. When I have to bang the end of the hose to relieve pressure it tends to spray all over...
Good point. That's the way I usually do it - wrap a rag around the end - leaving only the fitting exposed - and if I'm going to "rap" the end of the QD against something to relieve the pressure - I do it very quickly - and I look the other way when I'm doing it.
