Ive added all new diesel. and its run awhile also. if someone else here poured in gas for whatever reason Ill go nuts on them. I still have to see if it smells like coolant as someone else suggested its just been bad out lately and havent had a chance.

Pull the engine oil dip stick and give it a sniff.
Should smell like oil, not fuel.

I can start my tractor basically no issue, but once i bring her up to 2000-2200 she smokes a lot and huffs n puffs (the smoke seems to be light blue.) I have just changed my oil also. & recently my starter fuel pump failed so I replaced it and had bowl issues for filling up. now the pump is fine the bowl is full and seems fine. I thought maybe there could be air still in her but I bled the injectors and they bubbled out are and squirted some fuel out. am I missing something? or am i bleeding it wrong? thanks.

What the heck is a "starter fuel pump" and what are "bowl issues"?? I've never heard those terms.


Did the problem start after the work you did, or was the work you did in response to the problem?
Are you a total newb, novice, competent or expert with maintenance and repair of equipment?
Is it possible that you put in too much oil? wrong viscosity? put it in the wrong place? (like my wife that added a gallon of washer fluid to the rad overflow tank )

How many hours are on the tractor? How did you bleed the injectors? Many modern machines with "self bleeding" injectors have a valve that is turned to self bleed that needs to be turned back to run. Is that applicable here? Did you retighten the fuel lines? Has the fuel filter been changed?

Sorry to be somewhat scattered,but it's hard to go over the possibilities without seeing the machine and really knowing what was done before.

Blue smoke is oil. You said you just changed it. I'm betting it's overfilled.
