I picked up an older Howse 400 4 foot rotary cutter for my BX23. Fits on ok, but I had to raise the lift arms a lot to hitch onto the pins and the top link is as short as it can go. This only allows me to bring it up about level with the rear wheel, which is fine for cutting but I'd like to be able to pick it up, beaver tail style, to travel with as well as being back up on big brush. Can this be done with a brush hog and if it can, should lowering the hitch pins do it?
Many users of standard 4' RC's on the older BX machines lowered the mounting holes for the 3pt pins on the cutter a few inches, and have been happy with the results. My neighbor uses his BX22 with a BushHog Squealer like mine all over town, but I think he dropped the bottom holes about 3-4".
Yes I lowered the pins on my 4ft kingkutter as low as I could when used with my B7610 and droped the top link to the lowest setting on the tractor and I can raise the mower 3ft in the air. Anyone need a lightly used 4ft brushhog let me know?
