New Holland TC33D
Hi Everybody,
I have 2004 New Holland TC33D and the hose that runs from the inboard end of the right hand steering cylinder has a hole worn into it. Tried to remove it today and can't budge the connector at all. Worried about damaging the connector cap. Do you need to use flare nut wrenches. Has anyone removed one of these? This hose goes across the underside of the battery and runs to a bracket just behind the radiator where it connects to a hard line. I suspect that I need to remove the radiator to get that end. Anyone with advice or ideas please let me know.

Past experience has taught me that brute strength on hydraulic connections doesn't always turn out very well.

:confused::confused:

Thanks

Gerry

Flare nut wrenches are your friend. Try a flare nut crowfoot too. Many times a flare nut wrench works where an ordinary wrench slips or rounds the nut.

If you're replacing the hose anyways, just cut it off flush with the fitting and put a socket on it. It also may have loctite on it in which case some heat will soften it up.

Thanks to both of your quick replies
My oldest daughter is getting married this Saturday so I won't be able to give them a try until next week. I especially like the one about cutting and using a socket but I was also planning on getting some flare nut wrenches. It's always easy to come up with a reason to feed the tool addiction
