Mid-Mount Mower Can't raise the mower after riding over and locking in

Had trouble getting the auto deck to lock . Had to manipulate a lot to do that . It was not a simple ride over and lock in. Finally did that and now I cannot raise the mower. This is not mechanic , it is hydraulic. Left to raise and right to lower with the lever. Making the sound but the deck is doing absolutely nothing. I am new at this. Did I miss a step somewhere?

What type mower do you have? John Deere? Do you have the operator manual? Pics? Need more information to help on this one... Oh and Welcome!
