I drive on road coarses. No street racing for me. My car is pretty much stock. It is a fair track car in stock form. It is a superb dual duty car.

okay, that kind of track car. I will bow out of this conversation because I have had a car-port or garage since I was 14. Except for 5 years in the 70's all my cars have been under roof.

Nothing but an enclosed garage will keep the crud off. I have tried car covers, carport, and more recently bought the HF Portable Garage. It keeps the car dry and the sun off but the enclosure fills up with bugs that die from the heat and end up on the car.

I know the advantages of a garage. My last house had a large 2 car garage. It was heaven. 8 years ago we moved downtown into the house my grandfather built in 1930. It is an awesome house on a beautiful quiet shady street with 100+ year old houses. My dad was born in it.....but the lack of a garage has been painful.

No option for a garage, carport or tent type thing. So it痴 either a car cover or nothing.

A car cover will definitely help protect it. I got a C5 vert that's spent the last 12 years under one.

In that case get one of the inexpensive car covers from walmart. They are cloth and will breath. The car will still get dirty but it will keep the sticky crud off the car.

Timely thread.

We have a 2009 Subaru WRX that is used for Autocross and [road] track days, and a little bit of ice racing. Maybe RallyCross in future. Like to keep the motorcycles in the garage, so been thinking about a cover. Not just for tree residue, also sun protection.

I was at a barn sale the other day and back in one corner of this huge old building was a “concourse “ type car parked. It had a clear vinyl see through cover/enclosure around it with a blower pushing air within. Strip lights running long ways with the car at the upper corners where sides met roof. And zippered doors for access.

Think Bubble Boy looking thing.
Helluva thing to find in an old dingy barn with only the little car all lit up and the little blower quietly running in the background!

I've seen those advertised in some high end car magazines (Motor Sport). One brand is call "Carcoon".
