Carb update

I found a used carb on the internet, in working order that was just removed from a running "A". I am trying to buy it.

I wonder though... If people are dismantling these tractors because they can make more $$$ off the parts, will we run out of tractors?

Were you the winner of the ebay carburator? I followed it to closing, I think it went for $52.00.

I think ther were about 200,000 A's and B's built from 1939 to 1948. Thats about 1 for every 1,250 men women and children in the US. I hope there are fewer than 1 in 1,250 screwballs like you and I to deplete the supply anytime soon./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I got four responses to a post looking for a front radiator support, one was for a new after market part.
I think Bird hit the nail on the head on another post about his neigbor who had two, but probably wanted $1500 apiece, <font color=blue>"looked like junk to me".</font color=blue> I really have never got an ounce of work out of my A, but it shore turns heads when I drive it /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif go figure?

No, didn't win the carb. I questioned some of them with the "I think it's off an A or B. I want to know for sure what it's off. I was out of town and un-connected when it finished.

I know there were lots made; it still hurts a little to see one parted though. They all have potential/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I have no implements yet for my A. Man that sounds wierd... So far I have cruised the neighborhood. I hope to get in some parades this spring and summer. I also want to get a sickle or belly mower for it.

Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My poor Kubota, which has a loader, scraper, post digger has kinda taken back seat to this Farmall. The Kuota is a AWESOME tractor, but there's just a appeal to the antique /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hey Thomas,
Talked to them folks. $219 for a new Zenith replacement(they're still making them!), $179 for a rebuilt.
I'll see how this other one pans out. If it doesn't, I'll probably get the CT rebuilt.

There also antique tractor club in my area I belong to,and all make models are welcome pre 1960..very interesting what one can see. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

If you get a chance go to a fair which has antique tractor pulling.
Those Olivers 99 twin tubro and JD LP720 can put on a show, /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gifI rather watch the little gaints Cubs,A's,Case,Ford 8n,JD LA etc..and the people that you met are very pleasant...even the couple I met last year at Haverhill,NH fair that were from Austin Texas w/ there <font color=red>Farmall 250<font color=red>/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
