career change? What would be a good career change

outside of that i'm just going to find out because after 35yrs of bs
in the automotive field i had anuff and semi retired for a year or so

About 17 or 18 years ago I was forced out to quit after 19 years with the company. I read a book by (as I remember) a Dr. Wayne Dyer. It made a great difference for me. His point was that a career change can be a good thing. As others have pointed out, the most important thing is to enjoy what you are doing. My situation certainly improved. After about three months of taking it easy, I went back to work as a contractor and approximately doubled my income, without the stress of the former job.

we msut be ont he same 10 year plan because every 10 years or there abouts my husband and I re-invent ourselves.

After 10 years I egin to feel in a rut, I need challanges.

Well you didn't give us to much to go on. Keeping it kind of close to the vest as to your present employment/profession.

In your words, "I have a great passion for what I do for a living" do ou want to continue some facet of that but with a better work schedule? Or are you looking at completely chaning direction?

Yeppers, rox...

After following this thread I was daydreaming of the pleasure I'd get tending olive trees in France. I've picked 'em and maintained the trees in this area (we are in an olive producing area in northern California).

And I like the term "reinvent myself" that you used. Very appropiate.
