Thanks Paystar for the good report. All the dealers I talked to within about 50 miles said " sure, we can order them " about the Titan's, and then quoted a price way up there. Someone suggested looking at ebay myself and cutting out the middle man. I noticed lots of Chinese tires listed, Carlisle was the only maker listed as a USA made product. I had hoped that they were a quality product, they had exactly the same ratings as the Titans. Took a chance, ordered them in, will be here about the first of the year, guess we will see then. The problem with buying off ebay is you can't get a look at what you are buying until after the deal is done, that's the risk. Lots of good comments on their poor showing in trailer service. Not mounting them on a trailer though. My tractor has a top speed of 15 mph and, more often used much slower. I think that puts it in a different place than the trailer service uses. The old Titan tires had more damage due to sidewall cracking from just sitting than wear to the tread, over time I expect the same problem with these.

When I had to replace a Carlisle front tire, I found one on Ebay at half the price I was quoted locally. It's identical to the OEM tire it replaced.

I did a little reading on Carlisle and found they changed ownership in 2013. Maybe their quality will change- it couldn't get worse then it was!

I couldn't find a connection with Titan or Goodyear though. Maybe it was sold way from those.

Shows Titan and Good Year on the paperwork they sent me. And I just got the new ones last summer. They are Titan's and I dealt with Carlisle.

Carlisle owning Titan and Goodyear sure gives more confidence in their product, Carlisle tires I'd never seen on anything before. Also, feel a little better taking the chance buying new off ebay, buying blind. The real test of these will be when I put half a yard of rock in the FEL and move it, how well these handle that added load. R1's can take all the bite I need in 4wd plowing snow occasionally, don't get a snowfall over a foot deep very often.

Yes, though they don't own Good Year....just some agreement to use the name on their agricultural tires I guess?

But I was pleasantly surprised at their customer service, and how quick they were to deal with my issue. That guaranteed me being a repeat customer.
Most places today you can't even get a call back or email returned.

They showed up on the FedEx truck this afternoon. In good condition and defect free as far as I can see. Get them installed, see how it works out. So far, looks like money well spent. 7 X 16 R1 6ply for $100 per tire.

Interested to hear what they charge to mount them.

Yes, I'm wondering about that also, we will see when I get to town after New Year's. Sure could wipe out some of the savings on price.

I put Carlisle Tru Powers on the rear of my tractor and Titan R4s on the front. So far no complaints of any kind.
