Caroni Flail Mower Roller is a POS

Got the roller back from the welding shop on Friday $125.
6' piece of 5" schedule 80 steel pipe $120
2 new bearings $76.00
Put it together that eve. and it works great.
Hopefully we ill get many years of service from this mower.
I did call Agri supply last year about this problem when the roller first became badly dented. I don't remember who I spoke to, but they said it was the first time they had heard of anyone having a problem with the roller and that a replacement roller was not available at that time. They suggested that I get the roller straitened and install new bearings. I cant believe I am the only one who has had this problem with this mower? Other than the roller issue I am pleased with the performance of this mower.

One of the Flail Mower Nations members had problems with bearings going bad on the roller. I don't remember which member of the "Flail Mower Nation" it was it was and I am not positive as to reason why it happened as it was more than 3 years ago I believe.

Its always a good idea to check the mounting bolts on your flail mowers rear roller several times mowing season if you are not using lock nuts or blue loctite on the end mounts.


For all the Flail Mower Nations Resident and non resident members:
just keep in mind that that roller is spinning faster than any tire you have(short of a go cart) and simple vibration could make things worse if the bolts got loose or were not tight when it came to your place.
