Thanks Grandad. I appreciate the feedback. Have you done TnT on your tractor yet? I know you asked me about it and I actually took some shots of my L3830's various TnT appendages. Thanks, Rat.

Rat,

I didn't hear any feedback on the KingKutter line. Last year I got one of the 60" all gear drive units with a slip clutch for just under $1000 from the local Farm& Fleet. It has been used to till ~5 acres with about 2/3 of that virgin forest with tons of rocks, 3-12" mostly. One area gave the slip clutch a workout! It is also a heavy unit at ~680 pounds. With all of the rocks and roots it still looks good and has only small dings from the tumbles. It is forward rotation, while it is not quite as good as reverse rotation for bed formation, it does help get you unstuck from the thick mud. (Don't ask...)

For the $, it was the best around here. But I didn't see any of the Caroni's. Oh, it also has 6 tines per flange. The cheaper ones will get by with only 4 tines and those don't do near as nice of job. IMHO.

That's somewhere down around #56 on my endless punch list. Topping the list, we're starting construction on a horse barn in a few weeks and clearing trees for the shop building that will go up next year, while just below those, I put in the garden and 'hogged the fields once, so the growing season work is underway. Seems I have a full-time job with the chores on this place, but there's another paying job that I have to attend to as well. Guess which I'd rather be doing. If you know anyone who has a spare mil or two, have them send it to me so I can retire and work on my list!

TnT sure would be a handy addition, but something tells me it's not happening at least until we get the shop built. Being that there's only a dirt-floor shed with no power on the place, projects like that are not very practical at the moment. Appreciated the pics and your thinking of it also.

Never too late to start up the music ....shouldn't take much of a nudge to get Ken and Mark at it again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

.....let's see, somethin' about "my dog's better'n yours" but substitute "tiller" for "dog" and LOOK OUT! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Mad Dog /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif All got mad?

Caroni tillers are also distributed by ASC (Agri Supply) - As ASC is a distributor of only quality products (no?) they must know somethings.

Nomad,
We were worried that a Turkish Chipper project had consumed all your time and you could not spread some more of your propaganda.

I already own a chipper (Chinese!!!) and very happy about it.

I also have another new one which chips the grass, etc. (see attachment)

Rat--

Here's a link to an earlier post about a tiller I bought last year from CCI. I've been very happy with this hunk of equipment.
