Well, I found what I was looking for at Northern Tractor. It is a Howse carry all fork for use with 3ph for only $59.00. The only problem is they tell me that it will cost about $90.00 to ship it to where I live (Maine). We have always said that we were at the end of the road here and I guess that proves it! Any ideas other than check with some equipement dealers within a reasonable driving distance?

Or is there a Tractor Supply Co. store in your area. They also have them.

Does anyone have a website address for Quality Farm and Fleet. I too have been looking at the Northern carryall fork for $59 (they want $81.50 to ship to me). I would gladly spend the money, but the Northern item has a 500# capacity. I'm thinking that for the same money, I might find a heavier model elsewhere. I'm like the Maine resident-you can't get anywhere from where I live, and all shipments come by pony express.

Dennis,
Maybe it would be cheaper if you could find a welder in your area.

Thomas,
Your idea may well be the most pratical solution.

Do you have a VO-Tech school anywhere close? I live right up the road from one and they are mighty handy and all it cost is the material to make whatever you're working on.---Cliff

Yes we do, but I also weld a bit myself. I have found out one thing pretty fast. To make a tractor implement that will stand up to use, you should try to avoid using simple mild steel and instead look for some tempered cold-rolled steel. This is the problem. In my area, cold-rolled tempered steel often costs almost as much as just buying a used or cheap implement. Maybe someone has a suggestion on what else to use that is economical.
