carryall use

Today we took FEC out for a wild blackberry picking test run. Those wild blackberries on our property are very tasty but nasty to pick.
Wife put a piece rug on the floor, a small bucket, and a camping chair to sit on. Our GSD also went for the ride. We went down the forest road with FEC about 2' off the ground toward some blackberry patches.
The end result is "success"! Wife was smiling from ear to ear! She said that it was a comfortable and fun ride. Picking blackberries is now easy and lots of fun. The height and reach the FEC can get to is impressive. The small bucket usually took a while to fill up was full in less than ten minutes.

You've gone that far, I'd put a lazy boy in there and a refrigerator that you could run off of a PTO generator. :) Might as well go in style!

Glad to hear the good report on the FEC.

Why start another thread if this one is so good already. :D

No one specifically stated, but will the carry all work like a set of forks to literally back into a log and then lift it without getting off the tractor?

If I have to get off the tractor, I may as well continue using my utility trailer.

Bolted a half sheet of 3/4" plywood, and a couple of office chairs to mine. Tote two old women and a couple of berry baskets to the fartherest briar patch.

I am sorry but this response must be accompanied by a picture.

I don't have anything on my forks. I have a pallet I can put on the forks. I also took a pallet and using 4" hog fence made a 3 sided "object" to carry stuff in. When I need to haul leaves, compost, shredded limbs, etc, I drape plastic tarps on the inside. I can stack a 4' cube of what ever inside that thing. So, yes, I have the fork, but find using modifications of pallets I get more use out of it.

I also have a 30 gallon sprayer and a compressor w/ a generator on pallets so I can take them anywhere. I prefer a naked fork, at least for now.

I wouldn't think so unless there was some space between the log and the ground but I have never tried it. I use my toothbar and grapple to pick up logs and trees.

The arms on my carry all were angle iron, so they are not flat. That might make it harder to get them underneath a log. Also, there's no way to really hold on to the log that way (unless you are clever and rig something up, which can be done.) So say that there is sufficient space under the log to get the carry all arms under there and you can lift the log (< Carry all capacity) and you have a way to hold the log on the arms, then sure it will work. But, that's a lot of "if"s.

The other thing I've noticed about my carry all, is that I have the lift arms set to the slotted setting so that it can sway a bit. What happens any time I'm on a slight grade is that the carry all swings to the far end of travel, then with every bump it swings back towards the middle and then back to the hard stop. Over and over again, with each bump the load shifts down hill slightly. Very annoying when not tied down. I wish I could find a spray on "traction" paint, like a lineX bed liner.

My point in that, is that I'd imagine the same thing would happen with a log if you had to transport it very far.

I just noticed this thread the other day and started thinking, I was looking at pto generators and thought the TSC carry all would make an easy way to mount it to and move it.
then I saw all these other great idea's and had a brain storm or maybe brain fart, since I have a set of forks for my front loader, I would adapt to my 3PT Imatch quick hitch, when I backed up to it I couldn't believe it, should not be to diffecult to do, I could do it with 3 bars but I would have to stregthen the top link area a little. If I do it I'll start another post but just want to run it by here first, if anyone wants to be devils advocate let me know .
