Hello:

I'm in need of a cart to use with my 7610. I have a decent sized cart that I use with my Sears Garden Tractor, but am wishing for something larger.

Q1: Does anyone use a big cart/wagon with their tractor?
Q2: Who makes them and what sizes do they come in?

I don't want something as big as a hay wagon, but something a bit larger than my 16 cu ft cart that I use now. I'm clearing brush and moving stuff around my 5 acres and it is taking forever with my small cart.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Several places (Northern Tool is one of them) offers carts that are about 4' by 8', give or take a little bit. You can get a couple different models, some dump, some do not. Some have 4 wheels in the center, some have 4 wheels, with one wheel positioned at each corner.

Check out Country Manufacturing under wagons and trailers. They look nice but I know nothing more about them /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I own one of these wagons (estate wagon with dump). Overall they are rugged. The assembly can be painful and I had a jack failure. Also the dump doesn't not have enough travel on the jack sleeve.

All things considered, it would buy it again. I'm looking at their spreaders also.

I use a little 4x8 roadworthy trailer behind the tractor and ATV. Works very well and has the added benefit of being handy for picking up items in town that don't require the big truck. For moving brush piles the trailer has been put to rest and clamp on bucket forks have taken over. Most of the time I don't have to get off the tractor nor do I need to load the trailer and then unload the trailer by hand.

#1. How long did it take you to assemble the wagon?
#2. How long would it take someone like me, who rarely reads directions, and usually ends up with "spare parts" to assemble the wagon?

I have a question about carts...
I go across a small creek to get into my back field. It isn't wide and there is maybe a 2-3 ft difference between the grade on either side. Sometimes my rear implements drag when I start up the other side. Will a regular trailer hitch work for this see-saw action or do carts for tractors have a different hookup system?

Junkman, I'm still a (fairly) young guy. How long will I have to live before I can begin a successful assembly?

Well Bob, it's like this:

The On-Line TBN answer:

1. It was nothin. Took me about 20 minutes and she was done.

The reality:

2. It took ME (I'll define "ME" further below) about 90 minutes. Tools required? Pair of plyers, a cresent wrench or a ratchet set, hammer. That's it.

"ME" = I've always prided myself on my ability to put things together. I've taken a lot o things apart just to see em nakie and to see what they were sayin and if I could put em back together. In fact, if I had a nickel for everytime I was convinced that something broken was fixed by merely dissassembling and reassembling it, I have about 5 bucks.

Sorry, I digress.

Bob ... the challenge with my wagon was the following. The mfg instructions were naught, just a numbered parts blow up. The parts themselves were not numbered, so it took some study of the diagram.

To be brutally honest, I assembled a couple of parts upside down. Easy to do under the circumstances. This was the jack/dump assembly (a separate parts diagram) and had to undo a lot of my work.

In the end though, it was still fun putting it together, even though my screwup doubled the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if this mfg. improved their documentation cause I called up and let em have a taste of my feedback.

Again, this unit is serving me well and all of the above notwithstanding, I'd certainly to it all over again.

Since you don't read instructions and their may not be any, you are a shoe-in for this product line! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bob, what piece are you considering? If I can help out, by all means, let me know.

For the record, I got this wagon from them, a 1 ton load capacity. ANY machine you own would tote this wagon around with ease. Even that red and white gizmo you just got.

I'd say a 4 stars outta 5 for this wagon.

Pros:
Built like a brit shick house.
Simple design
Easy to maintain
Not too expensive
Good folks on the phone

Cons:
Poor instruction manual (may have gotten better though)
Wished the dump angle was about 5 deg. greater (but hey, it's enough to get gravity to help out)
With the wheels at the corners and the front pair doing the turning, backing this wagon up (especially empty) takes some patience. The other types of wheel positioning would be better, but it depends on the size wagon you might like.
