Purchased a case 1494 last fall and have been fighting the 3 point system ever since, when the selector is in draft position they seem to work as they should but the minute you select position the arms go straight up and hold there where you can hear the pump maxing out as if a relief valve is not opening. Have replaced all fluid and filters not sure if tearing into the selector part is a pain or manageable. Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point.

Probably should have added that once arms are fully raised you can not lower them there is no control at the lever. To get them to go back down we have to shut the tractor off select the draft position and then restart the tractor and they will slowly lower.

Have you checked out the descent knob for transport and lower speed?
It may be jammed with crud,, rust, etc.
If the knob is closed. then open it by turning left.
