Thanks for replying DJ54. The reservoir is up to the full mark on the dipstick. It was very low on fluid and when I topped it off, the fluid looked foamy kinda like emulsified oil. I have not raised the wheels off the ground yet so I guess I will try that. The last time I drove the tractor, the steering seemed balanced, that is, the wheels turned equally in both directions. Could it be that the manual pump at the steering wheel is void of fluid? I am trying to find out what I should do first before I start tearing the system apart. I hate the thought of removing the distributor to get at the filter because I just timed it to 4 degrees btdc and it is purring like a kitten. I'm 70 and it is getting hard to get down under the tractor. Does it make any sense to remove the leaking cylinder first to check fluid flow or pressure? Thanks for any help. Walt
