case 580 ck shuttle shift problems

Changed transmission fluid and new filter. Checked pressure for the trans pump (190) calls for a pressure between 175 and 225. It will move forward but doesn't seem to be fully engaged but will not move in reverse. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did it work OK before the service, or did this prompt the change of fluid and filter..??

Seems I remember reading some threads on other forums, about a screen in the trans that will plug, and cause similar problems. You may also check on this site down in the construction section, and do a search for 580 Case backhoe's. Seems that is the most common problem with them.

I found this info when looking for common problems with Case hoes, when I was looking to buy my 480C, and items to look for.

Bought it with the problem. I was told it had a stuck valve. Cleaned valve and pressure relief valve problem still there.
