Case 580c steering

Just wanted to get a few ideas on what might be going on. I haven't had the time to look at it yet. I have a cylinder leaking so I would have to add fluid to the power steering pump from time to time. I would have a hard time steering. I would stop and add fluid and it would go back to normal. Suddenly I had almost zero steering. The wheel was extremely hard to turn and the tires weren't turning. I stopped and added fluid. Now I can turn the steering wheel easy but it will turn at least 3 revolutions before it will start turning the wheels. It does this in both directions. I limped it to its parking spot and will look into it this weekend. I'm curious if this sounds familiar to anyone. Looking for a starting point I guess. There wasn't any new leaks that I could see. Thanks for any ideas or advice.

That's a pretty common problem with Case steering cylinders. Thanks for the reply. When you say common problem are you talking just about the leaks or the steering wheel being able to revolve 3 times before turning the tires or both?

Mainly the steering cylinder leaking. On my 480C, the steering wheel won't spin freely, but with some effort, it will turn the wheels just a little. Mine will leak about a quart a week, if I use it a lot.
