CASE CX31B ZTS

Looking for input on the Case CX31B. I have a shot at a two-owner 2013 with 1700 hours. Looks like it's been babied - very clean with original paint, no tears or wear in cab or seat and tracks look like they're about 50%. Comes with digging bucket, clean up bucket and thumb.

I don't have any hands on personal experience with that particular model but I do know that era of case and new holland excavators was actually a Kobelco. From what I've read arguably were a better quality than the Hyundai that the newer CNH are. From your discription sounds like it was well cared for. Any service and maintenance records with it? Run it and look for any leaks , slop in any pivots. Look for any up down play in the turntable bearing by booming down and lifting the house away from the under carriage. Any pictures?

Thanks for the feedback, Seven. I bought the Case and arranged to collect it today. The seller posted plenty shots but took the ad down when i dropped a deposit on him. I’ll take some photographs once the excavator is on my lot but won’t be able to post them until later this week.

Apologies for the delay in posting. I've been operating the machine intermittently for a couple months now and am liking it. I've carried out a typical 'new owner' service and checked the machine over carefully. It seems sound, is quiet, starts easily and the condition shots I've posted speak for themselves. It's quite different to my Kubota L33 with loader and backhoe and has meant a new learning curve for me. The tasks I'm learning to perform on the excavator I'd have completed already with my old Kubota tractor and implements. I've twenty years of Kubota muscle memory to unlearn and it's been frustrating, feeling like a novice again on the Case.

I'm about to start building a new house and studio on an oceanfront lot on one of the gulf islands in BC. The Case is too small for the destumping and pad formation I need to undertake on the lot so have a larger machine Hitachi 180 moving in tomorrow. I'll be doing my own building so the Case will save on service trenching, cutting foundations, landscaping, etc. I'll decide at the end of the project whether to sell or keep.
