Hi all, I've been a viewer of this site for a few years but never had a reason to post until now..
My 2006 Case D40 stalled and will not start. It stalled while stopped, trying to switch to a lower gear (it is a shuttle shift)...seemed like the operator had slightly raised off the seat...It would not crank, it is turning over and trying to start, but acting like it is not getting fuel.
So I have checked the safety switch for the seat and the PTO (to be in the un-engaged position). Both switches are ok. I checked all the fuses and the circuit breaker for the starting system. They are all fine.
I began searching/following all the wires around the tractor. I did find a ground wire that was pinched with the rear differential pedal. I have removed the pinch and taped over the bare part of the wire.
It still will not start. Could the fuel shutoff relay have gone bad from the pinched wire?
If anyone has any suggestions of other things I can look at , that would be great!
Thank you!
