Have a Case IH Farmall 31 that has a whinning noise when you release the clutch pedal. Once the pedal is depressed the noose goes away. I just split the tractor and replaced the release bearing.

Not much history or detail here. Was the noise there BEFORE the split? What was the reason for the split? The bearing was the ONLY thing replaced?

The noise was the reason for the split. Yes I only replaced the bearing because my supplier sent me the single stage pressure plate and its a dual stage. The clutch disc was right but the old one micrometer the old and new disc and the old was .3145 and the new was .3360 not alot of difference.

I guess I'm lost here. If you had this noise to begin with, (whining sound with clutch pedal up) why would you suspect a throw out bearing? When the pedal is up the bearing should not be in contact with anything, therefor should make no noise at all. It only comes into play when the pedal is depressed. A noise with pedal up would more indicate a problem with a shaft or bearing issue on the transmission input.

Some of us learn things the heard way I guess.
I just have to try and figure out what bearing it is

This MAY be what you have. I can't say for sure without more details about your tractor and transmission options. I guess bearing (#12) could be a possible, but the problem could also be deeper than that. I wouldn't think it's anything do do with the clutch, but I can't hear what you hear.

So how big of a job is it to get to #12 to see if that's the issue?
Also is there a way to attach a video to this thread ?

How big of a job? I couldn't say, as I've never been into it on that model. It looks like it would be under retainer (36) on the first diagram below, but how that comes off is a good question. It might well require first removing cover (23) on the second diagram. All in all it could be quite a chore since it probably requires a lot of tin and plastic coming off ahead of it. I can't help you on the video question. That's beyond me. I'm not sure what good that would do anyway.

So it was bearing #10 and #12, both on the same shaft. One those where replaced noise went away. The hydraulics are operating slow once I completed reassemble, but got the noise to go away. If anyway ask it’s a nightmare to get that bearing out.
Tractor was split twice and all the plastic had to be loosened to get it all apart, including removing the steering assembly, fuel tank, all floor pans and seat.
