I just got a price quote for a Case IH DX24e for 13,300 for Tractor, 60"mmm, FEL. That sounded pretty good to me. I am also considering a snow blower or Rear tiller. If the bucket would remove snow good enough I would get the tiller.

Also, those of you who have these tractors, do you find them to be enough tractor.

I mow 4 acres and have a long drive that fills with snow.

/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I have 24DXE new last May , 2nd one my dealer sold but the first they recieved & delivered ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif 78.4 hours now. Regional prices change I guess but think yours sounds good. I have DX24E & 54" MMM . Later bought tiller . scaper blade & this winter blower & cab. My price in CDN but should translate close to what they told me fel would be. I am mowing 1 acre & about 3 acres of cemetary. power & size are perfect. 60" mmm would be okay too but wouldn`t fit cemetary as well - I`m tight in spots now. If grass gets ahead you can remove a couple bolts on bracket near discharge chute & it will sty down when away from cars, houses , people etc. Too tall grass will give windrow effect. Farmer with large quality lawn 3 miles from me bought one as well with 60 " MMM & within few weeks had bagger installed . Hurry up & buy , you won`t regret , we need more posters on this CaseIH division. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I notice there is a big difference in the Specs between a DX24e and the DX24. For example the 3pt. lift and the loader lift capacities. Do you know why that is? I haven't been able to see the difference from looking at specs. I can ask a dealer but thought someone might know.

Been since last April but I think salesman told me DX24 would be 4 or 5 thousand more than DX24E ? They have heavier frame and different cubic inch engine if I remember right & maybe more hyd capacity but same horsepower. Both have their places but I think the DX24E makes better mower and DX24 probably better tractor for heavier fel , more ground clearance , or 3 point uses & available standard tranny . Mowing is probably 80% of my useage & I wouldn`t trade mine for anything else especially without hst tranny.

The DX 24 is a compact, which is a larger tractor frame than the subcompact DX24E. Although both are 24 hp, they are not the same engine. The subcompact DX24E is a little larger frame, but much heavier duty than a large garden tractor. The larger DX24 has higher ground clearance than the DX24E. The DX24E is basically the same size as the Kubota BX series (BX2200 and BX22 & BX23 TLB).

Look at the link to my pics to see all the attachments I have for my DX24E. I even have a couple of pics of my machine next to a BX22 and a JD 110 TLB, so you can get an idea of the size.

The quote you got sounds good to me, so if you like the machine, I'd say go for it. By the way, I'd recommend a rear blade for clearing snow - I've used loader only in the past, and the rear blade is much faster and does a better job. You can still use the FEL to clean up the piles, etc.
