We have a 2004 Case Jx90u with only 3900 hours
About 2 years ago the pto stopped working while topping a field. Strangely, the pto its self is stingy going into gear and spinning, but has no power, it’s like it is slipping a clutch. About a year after this, the low box (turtle) has started slipping. You can feel it go into gear and will drive a small amount on the flat, but if you rev it it will just slip and no long drive.
The high box (hare) has been fine this whole time so we have just been driving it in that until we needed it fixed (it’s mainly used as a loader for bales/the bucket around the farm)
Recently, it has started to delay a lot going into gear in reverse, and is jumping when it does go. Forward is fine.
We at the time when the pto and low box started slipping, we were told it was the clutch, which is what I had assumed based of the slipping feeling, but were told recently it might only be a hydraulic/solenoid problem.
Anyone with any experience of this able to shed and light on our situation? Or advise what to do from here?
Cheers
