Is this the place to ask questions about Case skid steer, or is there another forum for this?

I think TBN should be the go-to place for Skidsteers, as well as CUTs.

Until then, you might try:

You have an 1845, right? I just saw one on CraigsList for $7500. I have
been looking for a decent SS project.

What is your question.
I have many hours running Case 1845C. Don't know if I can help with your question or not.

Thanks, I don't have any manuals yet, but where are the valves and control lever for the aux hyd that go to the hydraulic motors on attachments? I was told that I could use 10-30W motor oil as the hydraulic fluid. Is that correct.

The quick couplers for the Lowflow are on the left loader arm. You control the hydraulics to these by the foot peddles on the front floorboard.

Highflow is an opition on the 1845C, it would be 3 quick couplers on the right side loader arm, they are controled by a toggle switch on your left joystick

Yes. That is what is recommended
Case also has an antifoaming additive they recommend adding to the oil.

Thanks, So I am assuming that the aux valve is solenoid controlled, which would mean that the pressure is max flow with no control over the speed of a hydraulic motor. I was thinking of using a hydraulic auger, and I guess there is no reverse.

Oh yes there is a reverse! It's the other side of the petal!

JJ, even if the AUX hyd outlet is NOT solenoid-controlled, you can not use
it to control the speed of a hyd motor. You are pretty much all on or all
off, forward or reverse. Speed is varied by changing the engine (pump)
speed. Some skidsteers have a HI-LOW hyd AUX pump output.....I wonder
if that is controlled "on-the-fly"? I have seen a control switch for that,
but the SS's I operated (Mustangs) did not have it.

The highflow side is controlled by a soleniod and toggle switch. So it is either on or off, with no reverse.

You should be fine running a hydrualic auger.
A hydraulic auger/post hole digger runs off the low flow side and is controlled by the foot peddle. With the foot peddle you CAN control speed and direction of the auger.

The foot pedals on mine raise and lower the arms and tilt. Is there another lever that switches things around.

I've run a dozen differant 1845C and differant years. All the 1845C I have ever used had hand controls for the bucket/boom..
Never saw one with foot controls for the bucket/boom?

This is my first skidsteer. The hand controls control the steering. Now the handles are straight up, but they look like that could be set to horizontal for some other purpose.

Does the low flow aux hyd connection use the main drive pump? If so, that
is a variable displacement pump and would be controllable for speed. If not,
is there a separate implement pump that is variable displacement?

I don't have the manuals for the skidsteer yet, so I don't know about the pumps. However on my Power-Trac, the PTO is ran by a gear pump that is running all the time. The fluid goes through a manifold assembly that has a lever on the side that controls speed. The pump puts out 12 gpm, and you move the lever to go from stop to any speed up to full rpm. the excess gpm are sent back to tank. Some of the other Power-Trac machines have a solenoid valve for their PTO, and it comes on full rpm. They can only change the speed of the hyd motor by changing the engine speed. The gear pump is piggybacked on the rear of the variable speed pump.

Does anyone know what the air pressure should be in the Case 1845c tires. I looked all over the tires for the pressure, unless it's on the backside. I was surprised at the weight of the skid steer with no implement, 6000 lbs.

Another question on skidsteers. Which has the most force, the lifting arms or the tilt section, and what is breakout force?
