Case850D for Farm Dozer

It looks good but it has been sitting for several years. It was bought and used lightly then parked. But it seems to be perfect working condition. Drove great but had to press right pedal all the way to floor. But then looked and master cylinder was dry on that side. When asked he said the operator drove to fast in reverse and the rails and sprockets were showing alight were so they went ahead and replaced them.

That is a good thing, now you will never have to mess with that. I doubt that it only has 1700 hours, more like 11700 hours. Don't let the hours scare you, if the tractor has been well taken care of and it sounds like it has, it will serve you well. How much is the owner asking for it?

In my opinion with the age of the machine, that is to much money. :shocked: Sounds like he is trying to get back his costs on having new pins and rails installed. And you said that there is a problem with the brakes? It sounds like a good machine overall and if economic times were better, the price may be ok, but right now with how stuff is, it sounds a bit high to me just for farm use. If you have the money and will be using it for a good bit on the farm, it still may be worth it, any chance of getting the guy to come down some?

For me, I don't spend over 10k for any used equipment for our ranch. That's not saying that the machine is not woth more, but that is all that we spend, just sort of a rule that we go by. Years ago we go our Case 580E extendahoe for 9K. The guy was asking 14.5K, but no takers at that price.
