Ok, this is really off-topic, but I am desperate. I have a Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus calculator and it is supposed to be able to calculate cash flow equations using a cash flow register. You know CF0, CF1, CF2, etc. I have the book for the calculator and it tells how to do it, but it explains it so poorly that I can't even figure out which button to press to get into the cash flow register. Any financial types or accountants out there that work this calculator?

I apologize to all those that clicked on this post thinking that it might be something interesting. It's not.

Don't know if this helps but isn't CF=Net income + Depreciation? This shows true generation of $ a business. Marty

Found this link to a little tutorial on using the TI83 and the HP12 financial calculators. Sorry I could not help more, but I use a scientific calculator (HP48) and know nothing about cash flow equations.

Instead of using a calculator, why not used Quicken or MS Money to generate that information.

Once the debits and credits are entered, they are tracked and a graphical representation and some reporting capabilites are available.

For some silly reason, our household always shows a negative cashflow. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif Go figure... /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif Hey... that's the point of this post!!! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Hope this helps.

Problem Solved!! Thanks Ron!! You really helped me out. The link you provided took me to another page which showed me EXACTLY how to do uneven cash flows on the TI-83 plus. I've got a 300 page owners manual that could not explain what I learned in one paragraph. I knew a TBN'er would come through./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif

Terry, thanks for the suggestion, but I need to use the calculator for tests. I'm one of those 38 year olds that has finally decided to get a degree.

No problem Mrwurm, it is amazing what a Google search will turn up sometimes (especially if you add -sex to the search line to filter out all of the extraneous pornographic sites/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif).
