Then why can Castrol still say Synthetic on Syntek oil if they lost the lawsuit ? Did they really lose ?

Hydrocracked Group III is NOT PAO Group IV, there is NO WAY that Group III basestocks can ever be as good as Group IV's.

You are free to purchase whatever you want in a free market, and they are free to sell you whatever you want to purchase, even if it is inferior.....

Let me know if you can find any info on any Federal Trade Commission indictments of Amsoil's misrepresentation of their products, because there are not any....

And...the "fact still remains" that EVERY major corp in the WORLD overstates their produt..Bar NONE. If they didnt..they wouldnt be competive!

This thread has nothing to do with corporate marketing and advertising around the world on different continents.

Your own opinion has nothing to do with it besides the fact that you absolutely despise and hate Amsoil's products exactly as you have repeatedly stated on TBN..... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I believe YOU are the one that made the comments about Castrol being "cheap"..and using fancy smancy marketing..etc.

That is exactly right, although it is not my personal opinion, it is an established fact that Castrol has marketed inferior substandard pseudosynthetic motor oils....I didn't make the comment about Castrol's deceptive marketing, advertising and production methodiologies, the Federal Trade Commission did in the Federal District Court.

Get a FORD. You won't have any more engine problems like that. By the way, I've used Castrol for 35 years in motorcycles, cars, trucks and garden tractors. Haven't had the first minutes problem from the oil. No runs, no drips, no errors. I do use Amsoil 15-40 in my Miller Trailblazer, but not until I had 25 hours on it. BobG in VA

In order to capitalize on the "Synthetic" name (which 98% of Americans know nothing about but sounds exciting to them except the fact that it is more expensive and not made from crude oil), Castrol faked their Syntec product by using hydrocracked isoisomerized Group III from crude and sold it as a PAO Group IV, which is illegal.

Why would you want to know though, since you've admitted that you'd never use any synthetics anyhow?
