Cat 1 Dimensions

   / Cat 1 Dimensions #11
Can anyone tell me why my CAT 1 attachments lower link points are different dimensions. I have a King Kutter 5' rotary cutter, 6' finish mower and 6' Blade. Also have a 5' box blade and 6' yard rake from other companies. The inside pin dimensions vary from approximately 24" to as much as 27". For my Rotary cutter I actually had to put the pins on the inside of the lift arms or they would have been closer to 29" apart. This isn't a big issue, I have the TSC version of the Pat's easy change system, but I don't see how a quick hitch would work for everything I own. What are the correct dimensions for pin to pin on a CAT 1 (research looks like 26-27") and has anyone else ran into this problem? If so how did you fix it, longer lift pins??.

This is one reason we own 3 sets of Pat's easy change system. The other reason is our first tractor (MF 265) is Cat 2 and the second (Ford 3000) is Cat 2 or Cat 2 from the factory so we went with the Cat 2 to Cat 2 hitches for these. The third tractor (Ford 3600) showed up as a Cat 1 from the factory so we went with the Cat 1 to Cat 2 hitch from Pat's so all our implements are Cat 2 pin wise by hook or crook.

Plus the extra 4" of clearance that Pat's offers saves the day time and time again.

I don't think this is accurate any more. Recently I was looking for dimensions and every single piece of used and new equipment was different. I just picked a middle of the road dimension for my winch build.

It isn't the standard that is inaccurate, it is the manufacturers. Some haven't yet noticed the existence of quick hitches.

The lack of a demand for standardization I see is the weak link that may never change.

According to latest ISO standard about it, this size is 683±1.5mm.

Unfortunately, many manufacturers don't follow ISO standard very strictly, because their engineer think tractor 3 point hitch could adjust so much by itself, and different product has different reason to modify this size a little.
