CAT 2 implement to CAT 1 tractor

I know I can use washers. Just don't want the extra parts. Anyway, it's done now. Implement is now CAT1 thanks to the welded in bushings. No washers required.

I have a slightly different problem. I would like to use a cat 2 quick hitch on my cat 1 tractor, so that I can remove my 8' brush cutter more easily. The cutter has holes for both cat 1 and cat 2 pins, but the spacing is about 32", or clearly cat 2 category. But my tractor is cat 1, and the lower arms will not fit cat 2 pins. The upper link is no problem; my toplink has one of those cross drilled balls that are cat 1 one way, cat 2 the other way. My tractor can lift over 3000 lb, so the cutter, at 1600 lb, is no problem for it. But how do I attach the lower links of the 3-point hitch, with 7/8" holes, to 1 1/8" pins?

I would try short 7/8 x 1 1/8 bushings on each side of the 7/8 pin. Put the bushings into the quick hitch frame first, then insert the lower arm and put a 7/8 pin through. Adjust with washers, etc, so nothing can work loose.

Not sure that will work. The quick hitch uses a special pin which is barely long enough inside the frame holes to accommodate the link ends.

You wouldn't be using the quick hitch's pin anyway. It would be too large. Use an aftermarket 7/8 pin that is longer.

If I am misunderstanding, a photo or link to the quick hitch maker's site would help.

One example: 3 Point Quick Hitch
The image does not show the side that faces the tractor. But any bushing would have to stay in the hitch holes without sliding off, and yet be narrow enough to let the 3-pt arms fit. I would have to lay this out. I don't have all dimensions.

My idea is to use bushings to temporarily convert the Cat 2 quick hitch mounting holes to Cat 1 size. (unless this is to be a permanent conversion)

Here is a crude drawing of what I mean. It would need the extra space taken out of the system with washers or a new lynch pin hole. (or use a bolt) Bushings could be cut shorter, too.

Actually, that is a very clear sketch. My concern would be that the bushings might slide out of the holes unless all the lengths were just right. But a quick tack weld of the bushing to the pin might fix that.
