Cat 257b tracked skidsteer

   / Cat 257b tracked skidsteer #11
I have owned a Bobcat 763, a Cat 257, and now a John Deere CT332. I would highly recommend the John Deere rubber tracked compact loaders and would say you should really avoid the Cat/ASV undercarriage unless you don't care about cost. Another thing to pay attention to is the fact that the John Deere tracked loaders are capable of lifting more weight and have a lower center of gravity and are thus much more stable. If you want something that is reliable, powerful, and stable I'd say go for the deeres. The Cats have great controls and very fancy cabs but are in my experience much more expensive to operate. I traded in my 257 with around 700 hours and the tracks really needed to be replaced. My Deere CT 332 has around 500 hours on it now and the tracks look almost brand new. Furthermore, the Deere tracks are made by bridgestone, not ASV, so it is easier to find cheaper replacements as they are more universal parts.

I am looking at a used 2008 JD CT 332 to replace a Bobcat 863. Any inherent problems with it?
