up here in canada there are more case than any thing else(1480-2388)
i have 1480 + 1688.
I'm not sure about The rest of europe but where we used to live in england claas was quite rare , The No1 was NEW HOLLAND closeley followed by DEERE.
Do you actually have numbers? I'm just curious and I'm sure things are a little different out west. Deere is by far the most popular combines around these parts.

I'm just talking about what you see in the fields IH is probably 75% with the 1680 being the main-stay ,Deere would be second but after the 9600 tthey dissapeared the rest would be NH twin rotors or gleaner R62's.
Lexions replaced some of the JD's a few years ago but they seem to moving on to NH CR's and CX's and not many lexions stayed , I know of 2 within 20 miles of me .
And on the stock farms you still get a scattering of MF 760's and Gleaner L2's and JD 7720-8820 but none of that side cab stuff gets used much anymore .

We have 7 Lexions in the field.

After harvesting wheat and beans, the only parts we have sold is an alternator and a rotary screen belt.

In our conditions here in north carolina, the Lexion is the machine of the future.

I also sell deere combines and the 60 series machines are giving us a lot of problems.

I worked for larger "lease/Hire/Rental " companies in the UK (Mechanic and driver)and will have to dissagree ,The lexions were trouble-some compared to NH's and IH's ,As for deeres our shops were always full of them .Lexions came as a "FAD" for a couple of years and soon went back to yellow and red.and green..Dont believe the "HYPE" about merc engines .
I can see why they would be a better machine with a cat engine but even the perkins powered dominators were not that well liked in our part of britain ,Sales will have you believe that germany rules the world ,Claas,Fendt,Deutz,Valtra,Same,Renault...They are not as popular as they would have you believe ...Some of our outfits ran 30-40 rental combines and up to 150 tractors and the least problems were with NH combines and NH and deere tractors and nobody would buy a "used" german (Unless cheap).
Wether it be political or from experience i dont know or care (slightly) .
I know some one is going to correct me about where they are manufactured but people have long memories and world war 2 was not long ago (would your father buy a german machine) and i think that contributes to a lot of it ....**** RIGHT ?

Not sure why we'd be uptight about buying German products. Most of our folks like German products. We are a big Claas forage harvester dealer and sell machines all over the southeast. New Holland Support is terrible in our area. Claas is improving quality control, while deere is failing miserably.

My father and grandfather (Fought in wwII) both drive mercedes (German Machines) cars and love them. There comes a time when we have to let or political ties and feelings go in order to buy a good product.

I do agree about the hype on mercedes engines- they are good engines but support is TERRIBLE. For our conditions, in anything, cat is the only engine to have.

Dont get me wrong ,I'm just a farmer (1400)acres and small time used dealer these days and i'm a tried and tested blue tractor and red combine man (From my mechanic experience) although i think the NH twin rotor is a fantastic machine and very under rated ,I will go against the grain and put in a vote for the 3208 motor but i have no faith in the 3306 (I have too many CAT dozers) and steiger cougars .....There is only one company that makes engines ,It's all they make ,They do it the best .............CUMMINS....?
I may take a 60 series detroit in a truck ?

I have an 06 2500 with a cummins... It would be a great machine if it wasnt for all the emission crap on it. I think thats how it'd be with all the engine manufacturers. The 3208 was a good engine. I just like my C16's in my KW's they've been up to pittsburgh and will run with any thing out there ;)
