Catastrophic hydraulic top link failure

Original end is 2 7/16" X 5/8"
New ends are 2 15/16" X 25/32"

A lot more material in these new units. This is the only size that I am now using on all 3" dia Top Links.

When you think about it there's a lot of stress on those heim joints. It's kind of amazing that they hold up as well as they do. It's not just the weight but once you figure in the physics I'm surprised you don't see lots more failing.

be shure to get a new eye welded on to the old link,"dont throw it away" then you will have back up cylinders. It will be just as strong as the new one if you get it welded correctly.
