CB 65 backhoe Root Ripper for Massey Ferguson GC tractors.

I have watch many videos on folks with subcompacts using rippers to take stumps out. I am not sold on this idea because I have removed many stumps with my GC2410 and on average it took about the same amount of time and caused about the same amount of collateral damage to the lawn.

I could still use a BH thumb though but my 12 inch bucket can do the same as a riper.

I could be wrong because my opinion is really just based off of the rippers I saw in action on youtube and my own personal experience with removing stumps.

My backhoe is not installed and the bucket is on the ground with supporting pressure, but I'll see if I can get the pin diameter/length for you soon.

Maybe petrified was too strong of a word, but these Tamarack stumps have a lot of tree pitch. They would cut the trees and stack the logs on the lake ice in the winter.

And in the spring float the logs down the river to the mill, but the Tamaracks would sink in the lake because the butt of the log was so heavy with pitch.

To solve this problem, they would cut the trees about 6'-8' higher using spring boards, or they would cut the tree at normal ground level and then cut about 6' off of the butt end.

I have many of these 2' diameter x 6' butt ends laying near the tree stumps, but in the nearby area the stumps are taller with the spring board notches.

This logging was done before chainsaws were used for logging, and real "horse power" was the daily ride.

I have sharpened the tips my backhoe bucket teeth with a grinder and picked away at these stumps and roots breaking off toothpick splinters, but it's a very slow process.

Normally it takes me about 2-3 years to get a stump to be below ground level, maybe working on it off and on.

24 inch stumps is asking alot for even a decent sized small excavator. Why not try the stump grinder made for Sub Compacts at a reasonable price-like the one made by Baumalight? I am actually looking at this now for an upcoming project. Like this one

That stump blaster looks nice, but it can only cut a stump that's 10" above ground.

My stumps are about 3' above ground.

Yes, the MF SCUT does have it limitations, sort of like using a small pry bar on a very heavy object and not destroying your tool.

I have only removed 2 Tamarack stumps in 11 years to gain more access for the tractors travel and to add a woodshed on the rear of the garage.

The fir and spruce tree stumps are now so easy to remove...

You can get so much more force with a ripper in one point. I use it to clean the fence line.
It works great a thumb you can grab smaller trees and just rip them out of the ground.
I have found you get the stump out with a much smaller hole.
The fence line you rip the small tress right out roots and all so you don稚 have to do it as often.

I have a 16", 12", 10" and 6" bucket. Teaming up the quick connect and the the ripper you just switch between them.
Less than a min.

I cleared out a 3-trunk buckthorn yesterday, 2 smaller trees and 1 big one all tied together with the root ball. Took some doing, first trying to knock it over with the loader and ratchet rake strapped on, then I went digging around it to break roots. That went well with the 12" bucket, but obviously would have been easier with a ripper tooth.
Anyways, finally I grabbed 2 of the trunks with backhoe + thumb and plucked them out individually. Last trunk came out with the ratchet rake.

If I had someone that wants one for a CB05 that has a Caliper and is willing to work with me on measurements I could make one.
I do not think there is one for the CBO5 right now.

Petrified sounds like rock to me and it would not work good on rocks.

My Quick Connect will work with BX trenching bucket.
