CC 6284

   / CC 6284 #11
If you prefer yellow and white, I just saw a 2003 7264 on ebay with 50 hrs you might want to check out. Item # is 7622229101. The model number is different, but this looks like the new 6000 series tractors. It doesn't have a deck, but has a FEL. I'm not sure what the reserve is, but could probably save a boat load off what you could get from the dealer.

mcseminole, sorry to hear you haven't had many replies to your query. A lot of times people are busy with their tractors, etc and don't spend much time surfing or telling people how great their 6284, or XXXX is etc. I agree with making the dealer an offer. If you are serious on the 6284, then come up with a fair price, discounted for use, etc. The tractor lists for $12,999 on the CC site, the loader is probably around $3K new, but I'm not sure what the MMM might be, maybe $12-1500? I'd probably start in the $14 to 15,000 range, better yet find another dealer, either on the internet or in your area and price a new one, out the door, no trade. That would also give you some reference. I've read things on the past on the 6284/Caterpillar engine version but as I remember they were all positive other than I believe the Cat engine brought a higher price. I have a 7234 8-9 years old that I have had excellent luck with and would buy a CC again. Tough, dependable tractor. I'm not sure how big your dealer is but I've seen other dealers that 'graduated' to the compact line of tractors and didn't last long selling them as compared to smaller lawn tractors, etc. He is probably trying to squeeze every dollar he can out of a new/used product. Let us know what you decide...............

Better late than never...
I stop by from time to time and just saw your post.
I've got a 6284 of which I traded a 7264 for.
The 6284 has been great so far (about 175 hrs.) and is a better machine than (my) 7264 was. IMHO
It has a smooth power train, less trans. noise, and just over all seems better. I'm not completly "trashing" the 7264, the Diahatsu is a good engine, as well, but I like the Cat/Perkins engine.
I've got a BH, loader, 3pt. mower, chipper, rear blade and some othe stuff that the machine handles well.
As far as price, make 'em an offer; they sound "high".
Hope this helps...
