CCM tiller arrived

Bob,

If you have a slip clutch make sure it is set to go. My dealer told me mine was ready and I found out it was not engaged so it slipped until it got hot enough and then froze together. We had to take it apart and break the pads apart and then put new ones in. They come shipped not engaged and they do till even though they are not engaged.

I had the opposite experience with a slip clutch. Mine was clamped tight and offered no protection. Do an adjustment pronto. I love the slip clutch but you need to set it up from the start.

Doc_Bob:

Congratulations on your MR-190 tiller! I purchased a MR-160 and I am very pleased with its performance /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif . The owners manual is wrapped up around one of the drive shafts and buried in all the plastic wrapping. Do check your gear lube levels; I had to add gear lube to my tiller. My only complaint was the number of times I had to cut the PTO drive shafts and drive line guards in order to fit my NH TC29DA (a reciprocating saw is quite useful). It is unfortunately quite normal for those individuals suffering from Tractorphilia, Progressive Type to purchase tractor attachments before they have a tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif There is no known treatment nor cure at present. TBN membership appears to exacerbate the symptoms. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Have fun with your tiller! Jay /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( $1550 (last one he had, gave me a $100 off) plus $265 shipping to my home. What do you think? Of course, I must still "pay" the tax on it. Maybe next week???
)

That sounds good. 2 years ago I bought the 5' tiller and I know steel prices have sky rocketed. Mine had gear oil in already. I did have to shorten the pto shaft with an abraisive chop saw. Thanks

( ..........Is it odd that I would buy attachments before I have my tractor??
Bob )

Probably not as odd as me buying a tractor before having any property to use it on. That was 3 years ago...still no property /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Hopefully soon though.
