Since you're here, let me ask you a quick question. What is the benefit of using those curved metal guide "shoes"? (I don't know what else to call them)

Thanks
The main purpose for skid shoes is to extend the wear of the sides of a tiller and obstacle protection of the side panel and vertical gearbox. Only in very hard soil will the skid shoes act as a dept control when you are starting to till. Once the tiller is in the soil, the offset scroll design will pull the tiller down into the ground. The main dept control is the 3 point hitch not the skid shoes.

Slip clutch adjustment?? Don't know about yours but mine came with a "ratchet" type and I prefer it as I don't have to mess with it every year or less, hook up and go!

Do you have any pictures?
The only ratchet clutch I've seen is an over-run clutch for tractors without a live pto.

"Rachet" may not be the correct technical name for it (Mark could straighten me out on this) but here's a couple of pics of it.

I believe it is called a "radial pin clutch" according to Mark at CCM. It is a bear to take off the tractor PTO stub. Any suggestions? I use a tow strap attached to my 4WD pickup currently :(. Jay

We use them on hay tedders and they go on the implement end. Our tillers have the slip clutch at the implement end also--Ken Sweet

sweettractors/Ken Sweet:

The more I thought about my post the more I felt that I should reverse my PTO drivelines. Your post reinforced my new "sense of direction". I will switch my PTO drivelines around once I get my little bugger "clutch" off my tractor PTO stub. The yokes on both ends are 1-3/8" compatible. I will try to make the "switcheroo" sometime this weekend. I set this up originally due to my "interpretation" of the translated manual. Jay
