Cell phones....3g, 4g, and 5g

You know - I don't give a good darn about how many "G's" my cell phone has. I have an Apple Iphone XR and all I want it to do is make phone calls. It seems to do that fairly well. It's my only phone and that's all I use it for.

Thank you ........

An I-phone is really a small super computer with a phone app built in

Never mind cell service, which was better here 25 years ago than it is now; I can go weeks on end and never see more than 2 bars on my phone. I used to be able to make calls from anywhere...
For almost a year my home broadband has been s-l-o-w. My ISP says there's nothing wrong so I've tried this, that, and the other, thinking that it must be my DIY wiring. Nada. Recently spent $45 on a replacement wire from the pole to my house, switched to a spare router which they sent me 6 years ago, nothing. The internet will be OK-sort of- for a few minutes then will crash and I have to reboot the router yet again. I was trying to find some other thing to try when I was talking to my neighbor; it turns out the entire town with that ISP is having the same problem. The only alternative is Hughes, so they essentially have a monopoly.

Cell phone service was amazing 20-25 years ago. I remember my Motorola Star Tac phone. That little bugger could hold a call like no other. Much better than my I-phone.

25 years ago cellphone on 900mhz, bad enough but bag put out 3 watts and had antenna. Today phone on 2.4ghz and puts 1/10 watt into pretend antenna. Game OVER. Say again, what, can you hear me now?

I was in the local store a few years ago, and there was somebody trying to talk to a mechanic about a repair his car needed. All of the time I was there the guy was saying "I can hear you just fine, go ahead".
The mechanic must have really needed the work because I would have hung up a long time ago. If I don't have a decent signal I'll end the call.

Dealing with phone companies/ISPs/cable companies has to be the worst. In most areas they have a monopoly so there's no incentive to provide good customer service, and they sure don't provide it. We have Spectrum here, I didn't feel like paying $11/mo for a modem and another $12 or so for a cable box so I have a Roku and my own modem/router. Of course, any problems I may have are obviously the fault of my "substandard" equipment, even though the modem is one that was on the list of approved ones on their website. Others in town that have DSL from the phone company have the same problems.

Getting back to cellphones, I wish there was a better selection of flip-phones available. The one I have for emergencies doesn't work very well, but there don't seem to be many that are compatible with Tracfone's pay-as-you-go plan. Don't even get me going on smart phones.

Look at number Chinamen slapping GGGGG phones together so dey can't be fixed.
Look at number of suckers standing in line outside store to get new phone when it comes out.
Look at lines of people wid 'phones' in 3rd world
Talk to idiot in phone store promising hunk of plastic will meet your need. If it don't, TOUGH. Buy another one. NO REFUND!

You think apple or phone company care about you, look at how system built out in 80s. Dense population area first, Interstate corridor next, rural last, same as cable TV. Only built when forced and crap level service.

Suckers are addicts, just like Coke. Hook in fish mouth, no need to add more bait.

Dat why US has worst celular on Earth at highest cost.
Now watch your sport show & complain on internet.
Don't forget, pay or get disconnected from world.

you got that right!

Your wrong (removed). Canada has the worst cell service at the highest cost.

Hey, Canada deserve it.
You only states 51 thru 57.

Besides, you chased my GGGrandparents out and kept frenchfrys in Quebec.
Karma is a beach!

Funny, my ISP asked me to fill out a questionnaire today. I never think of the right thing to say until it's too late.
Q: On a scale of 1 to 10 how likely are you to recommend us to a friend.
A: 1

Q: Why did you give that answer?
A: Because internet is slow and keeps disconnecting, customer support is non-existent; and the cost is too high for what I get.

In hindsight the correct answer would have been;
"Because you didn't give a negative number as an option."
