Center middle Hydraulic filter under the tractor Might have sucked water ??

Well quick update I might have gotten lucky and no water in the hydraulic fluid thinking it was all air even know I was cleaning out a pond and the muddy fields .

After I park it for 10 hrs went back and check fluid it was no longer white and bubbly.
I drain about 2 quarts half from each drain plug came out a clearish brown color .

Tomorrow I get my t clamps going to change filter and oil any ways even thought it only has 100 hours on it . Even if I hate to spend the money

But now I dislike the wire clamps

I had been noticing my hydraulics getting slower, hydro whine getting louder and my steering inop for a few minutes upon starting the tractor, taking a long time to get to working good enough to use on my 6530. in short, the feed line from the hyd. sump to the input of the common shaft pumps had cracked with age and allowed air to be sucked into the pumps. New hose, some time to work the bubbles out of the hyd system and things are good to go.

Wix filters (for one) lists the micron size of their filters. Oil molecules are smaller than water's. If the filter element porosity is small enough, or if water absorbing like some inline filters (Goldxxxx water absorbing element) used with fuel distribution pump's final filtration, any water you may have picked up could be stopped there.

Unless you spent a long time in the water I would think that finding any water by fluid color inspection would be hard to to identify and if checking bubbles, the fluid itself picks up air bubbles in the suction (to compress) function which discolors the fluid as would water. How long it would take for either or both to settle out would be a question. Also, since your hyd. sump is vented to the air and it's there somewhere...small hose on the top of the housing with (maybe) a check valve on the end, your sump could have a little water absorption naturally.

So a new clamp and suiting yourself on whether or not you need a new hyd filter alone or a complete fluid change seems to be the question.
