century 2028 c29 clutch replacement

i bought a 2028 century c29 6 yrs ago with a front end loader and i love my tractor it has been wel worth its weight in gold to me i have done evreything from pushing down trees stumps old cars and am diggin a pond with it but after 407 hours of zero maintanence minus oil and filter changes i lost my clutch yesterday no pedal was working started acting like it was loosing its strength then now no clutch at all engine runs grate all else works all hydraulics but no clutch dont have a clue as to where to start to replace. linkage all working up till it enters the tranmission. anybody got experiance changing a clutch in one of these?? motor has to come out right? i have worked on multi million dollar airplanes i know i can fix it . not about to pay dealer to do it... just need some experianced guidence before i go stripping things off

I currently am in the process of changing the engine and pto clutch plates on my 2035 as well as a shuttle shift fork. The tractor has to be separated between the engine and bell housing. With time and a little patience, it's not too bad.

did you have a book to follow or did you just jump in and take it apart how expensive is the clutch

Did you try adjusting the clutch linkage? This is a turnbuckle on the linkage just after the pedal. You might be able get some more life out of the clutch.

As suggested, check to see if you can get some freeplay with adjustment of the turnbuckle. If not, split it at the bellhousing. It's about a full days job to put a clutch in one of these. Figure 10 hours, more the first time around. A good portion of the work is dealing with the loader brackets. If no loader, it's quicker.

Someone answered your "century tractor" thread with dealer info. Maybe you should look at that thread again.

Call any Branson dealer for a clutch assembly. Or you can find a clutch rebuilder in your area, most big towns have one, and get it to them to rebuild.
