Some have had problems with after market filters, there are some posts on here.
This site was mentioned- (3510 BRANSON/C-35 & 2535 CENTURY) & (3510 i BRANSON & CENTURY TRACTOR)
You can also find the nearest dealer on the Branson site and pick up or order parts from them.
The OEM filters are not that expensive so I will only be using them.
5W is too light for a diesel unless you are in the way frozen north! I use the 15W-40 Shell Rottella in my 3510.
If you go to any truck stop you will find many empty jugs from the over the road truckers. Many of them use it in their high dollar/high mileage rigs.
Just be sure to let it warm up before using with the cold temperatures, cold running is hard on ALL engines!
Mine sips fuel.
You might buy the fuel additive, I forget the name on it but they sell it at Walmart in a white bottle with red and black lettering. A little goes a long way.

I have 3 "local" branson dealers they are all around 50-75 miles away one way, in all different directions. I printed out the contact info for the nearest one and put it with my other tractor paperwork. I have a new oil filter (oem) that the PO gave to me when i picked it up, along with the empty box from the hydro filter when he replaced it. I will have to give the dealer a call and see how much they are.

I have been looking around for box blades and such. About what size plow could this tractor pull? Also I'm considering a backhoe sometime in the future but that will probably be a different post as i don't have rear remotes.

I've got a Branson 2800H, a much smaller version of Korea's contribution to tractors. I couldn't be happier with it. It starts well, runs well and for a "tiny" machine, it does an amazing amount of work. As I was reading this thread, I kept expecting someone to discuss the glow plugs not "clicking". I'm thinking that what he might have meant is that the glow plug relay won't click off when the timer hits the predetermined time????? I mention this because "if" that's what he intended to mean, if you turn the ignition on, get busy doing something else and forget to start the tractor, it's possible that the glow plugs would continue to heat and possibly run the battery down or (this part I'm not sure of) possibly overheat the glow plugs and damage them ???? I do believe in my Branson, the glow plugs are connected to the ignition such that once the tractor is running the glow plugs are completely disconnected. If yours aren't wired that way, you might be powering the GP's all the time if the timer relay is not cutting out power. It might be something to double check. Sounds like you got a good tractor, hopefully the price was good too :)

So far the last 2 times i have used it it has been 8 degrees or around there with a windchill of -15, and today it was 20deg. Both times it started fine. I have no idea what he meant by the clicking. I hear a click and its the shut off selnoid on the injection pump and i see the GP light coming on and going off on the dash so i think its all normal to me. I will have to put my meter on the GP's and make sure they are being shut down just to make sure. I actually would prefer to put them on a manual switch like i have my powerstroke and jetta TDI. Then i know for sure they are on and when they are off.

So far I have noticed a few little things that need adjusting. The shuttle shift is a tiny bit harder to get into forward gear than reverse, as in you have to make sure its pushed all the way or its not in and will not go. No big deal just push in th clutch and give it a second and then try again and it goes right away. And the 1-4 gears are a little tricky to cross N and go from the split sides. I think they just need a little adjusting from where N is from one side of the fork to the other. I will take a loook at that when its warmer outside. I just have to Feel where the shifter is between the 2 forks and wiggle them into N then make the jump. If not it keeps the fork a little off from the other side and they won't line up for a smooth transision between left side and right. Makes gear grabbing while moving a little hard. And the last thing is the small oil leak around the oil filter area. I'm not sure if its the O ring on the filter or if its where the can is pressed into the threaded part of the filter thats leaking. Either way its just a small drip and it was only like 1/2qt low when i checked it today, and he said he never noticed it until the day i went to look at it and it was idling in the snow for a while and he pointed it out.

I Think i got a good deal with it only having 166 hours a brushhog, bale spear and the tractor with loader for 6k. I have seen many older smaller tractors going for the same price and more in this area, and it was only 5 miles from home, thats the best part.

When the glow plugs are on the light on the dash is connected to them so it the relay sticks the light will stay on.
If it is really cold you can let the relay cycle (light goes out) then shut off the key and turn back on and let it cycle again.

The service manual says that the glow plugs are supposed to heat for 6 seconds and then shut off. There is a clicking sound that is also supposed to come from the glow plug relay. The manual even recommends as Stimw said to turn the key off and back on for a second cycle when it is very cold to allow the plugs to heat twice. When the glowplugs are good the tractor will fire quickly. The relay is not supposed to run the glow plugs more than 6 seconds according to the manual. You got a good deal on the tractor and equipment. W Jones.
