Built some new chain boxes for my Kubota...posted some pictures below plus I thought I would share some pictures of my other mods. Other mods include: ROPS Chain Saw Holder (purchased and modified to fit tractor), ROPS light, A tool box holder over hood (crude but it works and it has a cup holder too!), tool box holder holding chain saw gas/0il, ROPS hard hat hook.

That's it.

Very cool :) Could a make a request for a few more shots of the chainsaw holder? Different angles, etc?

Thanks,

SRJ,

I'll try to get some more pics of the chainsaw holder tomorrow. It is basically the "Mad Dog ATV Chainsaw Holder". You can find one of these here:

ATV Chain Saw Holder - KODIAK OUTBACK

I was able to bolt it right to the rops - using the hole that holds the rops bolt when the rops is in the down position. The ROPS still lowers fine although I never lower mine.

Dillo - nice job. What are the chain boxes made out of? I assume you drilled the loader frame to attach them? I'd also like to second the request on the additional chain saw mount photos. Thanks.

The chain boxes are made out of some scrap steel I purchased. They are basically 3 x 6 posts (outside diameter). It is pretty heavy gauge stuff. I cut it to the lengths I wanted and then welded a bottom plate on. I drilled the bottom plate for drainage and then clamped them to the loader frame. Two holes were then drilled through the loader frame into each of the chain boxes and bolts were put through those holes after everything was painted up.

I have wanted to build these for a long time (I use my chains quite a bit). I had toyed around with welding these out of four pieces of steel from Lowes but it seemed like a lot of work and they would have been a bit messy - I'm not the greatest welder. I finally broke down and visited a steel supply place in town and they had some great stuff. I would highly recommend finding a steel place in your town or city that offers scrap steel - it was something like $.74 per pound.

I'm also interested in the mounting of the chain saw. I usually throw it in the bucket (if I remember); or more often, I walk back to get it. I'm wondering if I can use the canopy bracket for mounting.

Ok guys...here are some updated pics of the chain saw holder - I tried to get some close ups of the bracket mount.

As I was taking the pictures I realized that if I turned the mount around the saw would ride more over the wheel and be less in the way when mounting implements or getting on/off the backhoe. So the first two pictures are of the way it was...the next three are with the bracket turned toward the front of the tractor instead of the rear.

Today I also started a new skid plate - so eventually I will post some pictures of that.
