I'm assembling plans for a snow tiller which needs drive case at its end, as seen in the below photo. This is a very simple design, with a bit of heavy gear oil at its bottom to lube the single chain, least if it would stay in the case! The 1, 1/4 input shaft with run at about 3000rpm and there are no seals on the shafts, just what's on the bearings to start with. Of course this would have a drain and a full indicator plug, for the oil at the case bottom and another its it top to add it.. Just a little at the bottom would be used. What do you think?? The input shaft with have 35hp on it so what chain size should be sufficient?

I'm not a ME and I don't play one on YouTube....
