O.K. , Some of Us , Including ME , Say " What the Heck " and weld hooks onto our front buckets and go for it . Other's , Buy them with mounting plates and go that route . Now I am in NO WAY Endorsing Ken's Bolt On Grab Hooks , But I Will Say in My Personal Opinion that Anyone Who Takes The Time to Film Testing of Their Product and Publishes It to The Web Has Got To Be Putting Out a Dang Good Product , ( That I Wished I Had Went That Route !!!! ) .

Testing of Kens Bolt On Grab Hooks :

Ken's Bolt on Grab Hooks <<Proof Testing>>

Test 1 of 5

The First Link Is His Web site with Description of Testing , Video's are there . The Video is 1 of 5 that can be watched on test page or youtube .

Thank You Ken , Very Enlightening !!

My Bolt On Hooks arrived on St. Paddys Day. I have not installed them yet but did unpack them. They look great and Ken was great to deal with. I also bought the hydraulic pressure tester. That looks to be high quality too.

I went with the simple 'snap on' BXpanded hooks for my little BX. But I like the idea of the hook welded to a plate and then weld to the bucket. I think a reinforcement plate is important to distribute the concentrated load. Ken's bolt on hooks also get some help from its flanges as they help reinforce the bucket some but holes (in general) do introduce a weakness. Great job by Ken is testing and sharing the robustness of his product.

Looks like a pretty good product, I think I would trust a bolt on hook more than anything I would weld on myself!

That's an interesting location, and I sorta like it. My only concern would be forgetting they were out there and snagging them on something.

Poopdeck Pappy -

Interesting that you should mention snagging. I've never snagged anything with the chain hooks but - HOLY SMOKES, those teeth on the bucket lip. At times I think they are alive - they seem to bite on anything near!!

I have used Ken's 5/16" bolt-on grab hooks for almost three years.

Easy to install. (Buy the two drill bits required, new, for the job.)

Immovable.

Indestructable.

Industrial Art.
