I have used CRC white lithium spray grease for the past 10 years and have the same chain I started with. That is with a 3/4 mile gravel road and driveway in western Maine.
After moving snow, I clean the auger and fan of accumulated snow and then engage the pto and give the chain a good coating directing a steady stream to each side of the rollers.

I used to use motorcycle chain lube, the foaming type, but have recently been using Amsoil Metal Protector spray grease.
