Chain saw safety

   / Chain saw safety #121
I like to watch you tube "tree fail" videos. Man there's some real winners out there!

I didn't read all the posts, but agree that fatigue is a real enemy. Especially with a bigger saw, and then swinging that thing around to do light limbing.

I always hold the saw with a whole lot more effort then is really required for limbing. It does make the job harder then it needs to be, but It has saved me more then once when the saw has kicked, and no the brake doesn't always engage! That's the biggest thing that scares me about novices using a saw. Like I said before, it's not when things go right that matter, it's when things go wrong that experience comes into play.

Ladders and saws have no place together in my opinion. Some really good You Tube videos on how well this combination works. I built a double high cage that goes on my loader forks. Double, gives me that extra needed height. Only problem is I need a skilled and trusted operator on the loader.
